D&D: Adventures in Eberron - The Trees at the End of the Crypt
Deep in the jungle of Xen’drik, as we search for a giant hand we have been sought out by elven druids. They have beseeched us to cleanse their city of an ancient unread horticultural menace. We have slashed and burned our way through a crypt to discover the source of the evil... the heart of darkness awaits!
Well, we did it. Our party of adventurers found our way through the maze of razorvine, undead plants, and apparitions to reach the center of the trouble. A defiled alter, undead treants, and awakened trees awaited us and we rose to the occasion. We took down the pair of befouled sentient plants with flame and faith. Without their dark influence the awakened trees returned to their mundane nature and the taint of corruption that besmirched the entirety of the ruins was lifted. The source of evil was vanquished, the city was cleansed, and the aura of menace lifted from the place. A truer band of heroes has never been witnessed.
Our reward was a small cache of gems, jewels, and coins. There were a number of enchanted items discovered in the ruins and Carsten laid claim to a magical crown, the Crown of the Winterlands. A strange thing to find in the swealtering jungles of Xen'drik, but treasure is treasure. The wearing of a crown might require a tweak to the look I've been cultivating for this character. It may also result in a certain aura of regality and unearned respect from those around him. Only time will tell.
As a result of our victory, Carsten and the rest of the PCs leveled up. Which is great, but I still hadn't figured out what I could do as an 8th level cleric, now I need to figure out what a 9th level cleric can do.
